Theater Pathway

The Theater Program at Maine Arts Academy allows students to explore the  collaborative process of making theater.  Classes focus on acting and performance, theater games and improvisation, theater leadership, directing, playwriting, and creating original theater.   Students may use the theater program as preparation for continued study in college or as a pathway towards personal enrichment and artistic expression.  Theater classes are taught in a supportive theater environment allowing students to gain skill and experience as creative problem solvers, improving both communication skills and articulation.  Through creating theater in class, students gain perspectives in both classical and contemporary literature and learn to connect knowledge and personal experiences to make original work.  At MeAA, we strive to  guide students towards becoming producers and creators in the area of theater, not merely interpreters.

Musical Theater is a new Pathway option for Theater students!
