Lottery

If we receive more Intent to Enroll forms than seats available, we will have a lottery on March 31st, 2024, at 3:00 pm.  If a lottery is necessary, completed Intent to Enroll forms that are not given a seat from the lottery or those received after March 31st will be placed on a waiting list.   If a lottery is not necessary, we will continue to collect and seat students who submit an Intent to Enroll until we meet our enrollment limit.

Lottery Guidelines

  • All siblings of currently enrolled students will be placed before holding a lottery.

  • MeAA will give enrollment preference to children of the school’s full-time employees as long as they constitute no more than 10% of the school’s total learner population.

  • MeAA may limit admission to pupils according to given age group(s) or grade level(s) and may modify the number of students in any particular grade to accommodate staffing exigencies and attrition patterns.

  • All names of remaining students who have submitted the Intent to Enroll will be given randomly drawn numbers and placed in a bin if there are more applicants than slots for a specific grade level.

  • The student will be accepted or placed on the waiting list as each number is drawn.

  • When a student is accepted, their siblings’ names are automatically drawn. If there is space, the siblings are accepted as well. If not, they will be placed on the waitlist.

  • Parents of accepted students will receive additional enrollment papers to complete and submit for the enrollment to be finalized.

  • Their acceptance remains in effect until they graduate or transfer.

  • If there is no longer space available, the student will be placed on the waitlist in the order that their name was drawn. If an opening occurs in a given grade, students on the waitlist will be contacted according to their order on the waitlist.

  • Students who apply to MeAA after the lottery date will be conditionally admitted only if space is available. If space is not available, they will be placed on the waitlist in the order that their completed application is received.

  • MeAA accepts all applications and does not discriminate based on sex, race, color, religion, handicaps, or disabilities.
