This course is an elementary introduction to the study and production of film. During the course, the students will learn the fundamentals of how to read a film as a text. Students will watch several films and clips of films throughout the course these films will have ratings of G, PG, and PG-13—and will study the various elements of film and how each part acts individually and together, which will be further expounded upon in the high school film courses. Students will become familiar with camera and sound equipment and editing software. This course is a primer for students who wish to pursue the film pathway in high school.
