Math
Our mathematics curriculum for 7th and 8th grades is thoughtfully designed to align with the Maine Learning Results standards, ensuring a robust foundation in mathematical concepts and practices. This curriculum emphasizes four key strands:
-
Quantitative Reasoning
-
Algebraic Reasoning
-
Geometric Reasoning
-
Statistical Reasoning
-
This comprehensive approach ensures that our students are well-prepared for high school mathematics and beyond, equipped with the critical thinking and problem-solving skills necessary for academic and real-world success.
Math 7th Grade
In this course, students will focus on proportional relationships, performing operations, writing and solving multi-step equations involving integers and rational numbers, and interpreting percent values and statistical samples. This course focuses on integrating algebraic, quantitative, geometric, and statistical reasoning concepts under the 7th-grade Maine Learning Results to build mathematical fluency.
Math 8th Grade
In this course, students will focus on proportional relationships, interpreting and graphing linear and nonlinear functions, performing operations, and writing and solving multi-step equations involving integers, rational and irrational numbers, and interpreting percent values, rational expressions, and statistical samples. This course focuses on reinforcing and expanding algebraic, quantitative, geometric, and statistical reasoning concepts under the 8th-grade Maine Learning Results to build mathematical fluency and prepare students for high school algebra.
