NEWS & EVENTS
We also invite you to join us for our annual One Acts Evening on Wednesday January 29 for an evening show. Please join us for a wonderful night of the student-written production of ASCH. This is an original play that tells the story of the aftermath of the 1911 Shirtwaist Triangle Factory fire. The play, written by MEAA senior Natalie Gilbert, tells a captivating story about the lives that were lost in the fire and the choices those who survived made afterwards. Tickets are $12 for Adults and $5 for Students, and are available online by clicking here. The play is recommended for students middle school aged and above. A talk back with the cast and crew will follow the performance. The MEAA Student Theater Company chose to produce ASCH because of the main question that it poses,“When is the right time to speak up?” The Student Theater Company at MEAA focuses on collaboration between student actors, directors, playwrights, and technical team to achieve a common goal. According to student director, Mars Bisson (senior), “Each student has the opportunity to pursue their unique interests and grow as an artist and a person. I truly believe this is the best place in Maine for young artists to nurture their talents.”
